CJ Werleman is a journalist and a social media warrior for the Jehadi's,
calls himself activist against Islamophobia, defending Islam and its
armies. Recently he has been caught lying and spreading falsehood on
twitter and is no stranger to such controversies. He has a sizeable
Twitter following of 237k and counting, making him an influencer with
some clout, a dangerous one at that.
In the current ongoing Corona virus lock-down which is being strictly enforced in India, it has been made evident through various sources, Muslims have been flouting basic hygiene norms, willfully trying to spread the Corona virus, attacking health care workers and generally engaging in dangerous behavior including murderous attacks on law enforcement agencies for enforcing the lock-down. Its a well known fact much to the chagrin of other citizens, the Indian government and the law enforcement agencies normally exercise much restraint and even go soft on the Muslims in general respecting their religion and religious norms but there are times when events calls for firm action.
In Ahmadabad, Gujarat, a police team was attacked in a Muslim ghetto for enforcing a lock down and a mob of 20 or 30 people pelted stones which led to injuries on the police side. Incidentally the police officer and troopers sent to contain the situation were Muslims themselves. Here is a excerpt and link to the full news item from Indian Express. Similarly another digital daily OPIndia reported the riot.

Following the attacks the police raided the area in the evening and arrested the trouble makers. This is the full 360 degree view of the incident. CJ Werleman has portrayed the entire episode as an act of police brutality and oppression against Muslims and projected only one side of the story. His narrative is one of police brutality against Muslims during time of Ramzan and breaking of fast in the evening, supposedly a sacred and emotional act among Muslims. He used this narrative to create maximum impact among his Muslim follower. His tweet at last count has more than 6.1k retweets and 7.3k likes from Muslims from all over the world including India and replies which are bigoted demanding retribution against the police and Hindus. How is this responsible journalism? He has fanned hate through his misplaced activism on Twitter all across the world making millions of Hindus vulnerable to attacks from radical Muslims. CJ Werleman has been called out for his lies and plagiarism and fired from various jobs, and his works being taken down as acts of poor journalism.

Alternet removed his pieces, though Salon (to its discredit) left them up, and the man was thoroughly trounced and disgraced. He didn’t even apologize, but fobbed off a lot of his plagiarism on “bad editing”, mistaken failure to use quotation marks, and even by making false counter-accusations that Sam Harris plagiarized too!
But the man found a new career, writing for The Middle East Eye*, begging for support on Patreon, and engaging in a protracted campaign of defending Islam, demonizing Israel, and blaming all the trouble in the Middle East on America. Only Glenn Greenwald comes close to W*rl*em*n’s vehement Islamic apologetics issued by a non-Muslim.
It is to be noted that CJ Werleman is NOT on 'ground zero' reporting first hand the unfolding events, double checking facts and back stories with sources. He writes from data gleaned from the internet and secondary sources. He picks up information from local news media that suites his narrative and rehashes the news with his secret sauce and spices, which is not that far away from plagiarism. One would want social media tech companies such as Twitter and Facebook to clamp down on such 2nd hand reporting as these social media influencer's backed by journalistic license wield far greater power to move emotions negatively on a world wide scale. In the meantime we should not take CJ Werleman seriously and consign him to the dustbin.
